Savoure, 9 July 2026

That's the garlic beef bánh mì from Savoure, US$10.88 after tax & tip. I bring it up only because I've never brought them up before. When you need Vietnamese downtown - be it a báhn mì, some phở, spring rolls, or a vermicelli salad, they're better and I think cheaper than Bep. I got this from the new location in the 330 Building but I prefer the original in the Quebec Building. The original in the Quebec Building has a human take your order, the one in the 330 Building food court is doing what all the new food court stalls are doing: They put up a kiosk and make you punch in your own order. Andrea and Jalapeño's still use real people to take your order (because it's not hard to do) but these new places, Eggflip, Konbu Nori, and Savoure all make you use a kiosk and you know how I feel about kiosks.
Aside from the kiosk thing that I fucking hate, how did the sandwich taste? Well, it's not a remarkable bánh mì but it's a lot better than Skyway Pho and Bep. Only other bánh mì joint in the skyway I can think of is the dear departed Vellee Deli, where there was always only one thing off about their bánh mìs and it was always a different one thing.
Savoure's bánh mì seems solid, reliable. This is the third or fourth time I've had theirs and it has never been off, it has never been bad or lacking. Now that I think of it, they do do one thing different: They use hoisin sauce instead of paté. That doesn't really make it stand out but it is different. It's noticeable. It's a little noteworthy. But it's not like your friends would be all
about it after you tell them, "Yeah, man, they use hoisin instead of paté." Nor would they get all
about it after you tell them that. It's just like, oh, there's a difference. Good to know.
There are better bánh mì in Minneapolis but not like way better, just like a regular amount of better. However, if you're at work, downtown, Savoure is definitely your best option. And their vermicelli salad bowls are pretty good, too. In fact, I think I prefer their vermicelli salad bowls over their bánh mì. Give them your money.
